Gifts of Time & Talent
At Trinity Sonoma, there are many ways to share your time and talents to benefit our parish. We encourage you to prayerfully consider the gifts you have been given when determining how you might give back, fulfilling your commitment to serve the Lord and His people in action.
The Gift of Time
Service to our church and community consists of offering our time in activities such as serving on the Worship Team, volunteering at Church Workday, and taking communion to the home bound. The gift of time spent in prayer is just as important.
The Gift of Talent
God blesses us each with unique talents that can serve our church and community. By offering back those God-given talents to the church and to one another, we are able to bless Him in return.
The Altar Guild is a volunteer group of the parish whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for services and clean up afterwards. Altar Guild members are also responsible for the decoration of the sanctuary including the arranging the flowers.
Should you have interest in joining the Altar Guild, please contact Linda Dowd at 707.996.1198 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Help us to maintain our church building and grounds while getting to know and spend time with other church members. Please look for notices about when Church workdays are scheduled. You don’t need to be a church member to help out.
There are always a wide variety of tasks to be completed; most are quite easy so don’t worry about physical difficulty. No experience is needed but if you do happen to be an expert at some phases of construction or maintenance, then your good advice will be appreciated.
Should you have any questions, please contact Wendy Haber at 707.996.0895 or email email@example.com.
Coffee Hour is being held via Zoom for the time being. We welcome the congregation and visitors to log on and visit with one another following the service. This is an essential part of our hospitality and an important way for Trinity Sonoma to welcome strangers and new members to share in God’s friendship. The traditional coffee hour held in Buttrum Hall will return as soon as possible.
Acolytes participate in the service through carrying the crosses, candles, and other items in procession. They also help in a number of important ways throughout the service assisting the rector.
Acolyte service is open to anyone aged 9 or above. Training is provided along with periodic mandatory refresher training.
Eucharistic Ministers (EMs) and Eucharistic Visitors are licensed by the Bishop and serve under the direction of the Rector. EMs assist with administering Holy Communion during worship services while EVs take Holy Communion to the sick and shut-ins in hospitals, nursing homes and private residences.
Lectors read the Lessons and lead the reading of the Psalms and Prayers of the People at the worship services.
If you are interested in participating in any of these ministries, please contact Christina Van Krugel at 707.342.9244 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Trinity maintains the memory of those whose ashes are inurned in the Memorial Garden. This special committee cares for and maintains the garden. The Trinity memorial garden/columbarium is non-denominational, available to those both within and outside of the church.
For more information on joining the Memorial Garden committee, please contact Nancy Hayes at 707.721.1980 or email email@example.com.
