This Week in the News: Kitchen Update

Sixty days into the Kitchen project, all demolition is complete, the two new restrooms are nearing completion and access ramping is in place. The kitchen area has been reframed and sheet rock will be installed in the coming days. Preparations are underway for fire suppression. New water heater and other infrastructure have been installed. Two years in the planning, the project was deemed necessary when the Sonoma County Health Department refused to recertify the kitchen for use. A committee of the Vestry works closely with the project managers on the project. Sonoma Home Meals has moved temporarily to The Grange to provide food services. We anticipate their return this summer. Our plan is to reach out to the community to attract non profits and help serve the community.

John Addeo is project liaison, working with the design team of Ray St. Francis and Susan Peterson, RossDrulisCusenbury and Kevin Lely Construction. The scope of the work includes the kitchen, storage areas, hall entry, restrooms, electrical and plumbing, and handicapped access throughout. Construction is anticipated to be completed in June 2024.  (03.15.24)
