PASTORAL CARE

Your Pastoral Care committee meets once a month to discuss the needs of parishioners.  This is a dedicated committee that cares for each of us in many ways.  Foremost among those care-giving duties is prayer and we do that regularly.  Beyond that there is the prayer chain, Pastoral Partners, delivery of service tapes to shut-ins, Martha’s Helpers, delivery of communion and hospital visits.  All of these services are available to each of you.  All it takes is a phone call to the Rector or the church office.

Two of our services are Pastoral Partners and Martha’s helpers – both new in the last year.

Pastoral Partners is in simple terms a way for our parish family to be better connected to each other.  EVERYONE in the current directory is assigned to a Pastoral Partner Leader.  Those leaders are to call or talk to each of their “cluster” members once a month.  These assignments were made without concern for your gender, age, how long you have been at Trinity or whether you go to 8:00 or 10:30 service.  Those who do not want a call may call and ask to be removed from the list.  Only two people have asked for that!  Each and every one of you should be contacted on a regular basis.  So, when you get a call from the person who says, “Hi, I’m your Pastoral Partner Leader,” enjoy the time visiting with a long-time friend or make a new one!

Martha’s Helpers:  This ministry offers grocery shopping and other errands, rides to church and other local appointments, "covered dishes", etc.  When you need a “Helper” it is helpful if you can give 24 hours notice, but not required. Please call during reasonable daytime hours!  Martha’s Helpers love to help everyone, but we are not able to do the tasks that are already done by FISH or other actual health-care services.  Please call FISH if you need a ride out of Sonoma.  Martha’s helpers can easily arrange for a bit of grocery shopping, meals when the main “chef” is unable to cook, or a visit when isolation is an issue.
